Great addition to our living space CindyWe are short on storage in a 1937 bungalow. This cabinet stores all of our extensive media collection, candles, batteries, and miscellaneous in an organized fashion. Pretty straightforward assembly instructions and you definitely need 2 people. 5
Missing and incorrect parts!LisaThis is the last cheap Ikea piece of furniture I will buy. I purchased two Vihals sideboard units and the first one assembled Ok but it was missing the screws to attach the drawer pulls. Also, bits of it broke off as it was being assembled. It's constructed of very cheap materials. The second unit was missing the drawer screws again and drawer runners. The back pieces will not line up with the holes no matter how I turn them. Also missing are the plastic pieces that go into the holes to secure it to the back. I've now ordered them twice (once via that chat feature and the other by phone) and I don't have any confidence I'll see them. I would have returned both pieces but I live over two hours away and it is $45 in gas to do so. I've bought Ikea furniture for years and I'd rather pay three times what these cost for a better quality piece of furniture. Very disappointing.1
Missing entire back piece. Drawer crooked.AmyThe entire back piece is missing!! That’s right - you need two back pieces to assemble and only one in the box. Leaves a giant opening in the back. Also the drawer slide holes on the right side panel are higher than everything else. This results in a crooked right drawer that is high on that side, doesn’t close properly, and gets stuck. Really poor quality control on this item. 1
Kitchen Buffet MonicaIt’s convenient, easy to assemble but you must be very careful screwing in this product. It’s not made of the best material to tighten up. 4
Sufficient for my sufficient for my needs, not the highest quality, easy to put togetherAngiePros: it fit a very specific space for which it was needed. It is easy to put together. The back is sturdier than the usual cardboard/masonite backing that is more typical of this level of furntiture. Cons: ghastly cheap particle board. I would not plan to move this around, as it is bound to loosen over time. The particle board itself breakes very easily, so it won't take much wear and tear. I hate the slot-style connection system. It makes a fairly simple build a two-person job unnecessarily. It's difficult to adjust the doors so that they don't have gaps. I'm concerned with how well this will hold up over time and whether or not I can successfully mount some things to it that I want for my craft room.4
Poor material GlorivetteI do sad to do this review because I love IKEA. I buy and at the moment started installing the pieces start falling and breaking, when you try to assemble every part loose a corner or cracks. I a very bad quality. Definitely don’t recommend. The sad part I can’t return to the store because is to big to fit in my car.1
Happy with purchase BrookeFunctions well & holds more than I expected 5
Great sideboard for the price but beware particle boardWilliamLike all Ikea furniture all the parts fit perfectly and it looks gorgeous in the space I have it. The instructions were fine, maybe not as crystal clear as some of their other products but if you take your time and pay attention it isn't a problem. Assembly was easy as well. One step calls for two people (when the heavier top has to lifted into place) but this arthritic 70yr old had no problem. The one issue that I knew going in was that this piece is particle board, and one must be careful when torquing screws. Sure enough, when putting one of the hinges on the board crumbled under one of the screws. Luckily the other screw held tight and I was able to find a slightly larger / deeper screw and gently got it to grab a bit. It could have been a disaster but all's well that ends well. I'm really happy with it, especially for the price. Going forward I think I'll spend the extra $ and stick with Ikea hardwood or fiberboard, especially for the larger pieces. 4
Cheap AntonellaI have purchased and assembled IKEA products. This one is falling apart as we put it together. I need wood glue to keep pieces together. Disappointing 3
AwesomeClaudiaI LOVE IT!!5
Pretty, functional and not to expensiveClaudia C.Just a little difficult to ensamble5
It served it’s purposeAshleyIt felt nice and sturdy for a while. The drawer face broke off after a few months.3
Assembly has major flaws, unclear pictures and the particle board cracks during the processAntonellaI have purchased thousands of dollars of IKEA products of various types- everything from PAX to Best. This was impossible and ended up cracking during the process of assembly in several areas. I'm guessing but there is a part where they have you insert an anti-tipping device that was not part of the initial design. I reviewed it, had friends look at it and I sort of see what they want you to do (but of course can't manage to write instructions with words even though translation devices are easily accessible). This was a huge disappointment and has made me decide to no longer for special finds at Ikea to mix with my other pieces from higher end stores. The assembly is so poorly illustrated and thought out, it's insulting. I will now be putting this piece by piece in the garbage. Huge disappointment.1
It's my best solutionAnnaIt took a bit of work to assemble, but it was worth it.5
Practical, usefulSidThis works well for where I wanted in my small living rom area. Would liked to have a bit more storage, but was able to fit majority of items I needed to make more space. It is recommended that two people work on this, I was able to do it by myself, but if you have help, it may be a good idea to use it!5
Great addition to the laundry room!KhuongThis cabinet is stylish and contemporary in appearance. The capacity allowed me to put away a lot of laundry room items so that the room looks neat, tidy and uncluttered. The finish is a crisp white matte and the drawers slide smoothly and quietly.5
Great value forMoneyFabianExcelent value for money. Great appearence and easy to ensamble. The only bad point is that it came two left sides for one deawer.4
Great!TereneAssembly was so easy this 40 something year led put t together all by herself.5
Exactly what I was looking forKanakI used 2 of them to make 9 ft long buffet cabinet. And a 3rd to replace a 3x2 kallax. Had some doubt about white color, but it enhanced the room decor.5
Great General Purpose CabinetMikeThe mix of drawers and shelves was just what we were looking for and is the perfect size for our kitchen nook. Basic white and fairly easy instructions. The down side of the picture-only instructions it is super easy to reverse the rails. I didn't understand what they were trying to say with the arrow pointing to the logo, until I realized I had the rails on backwards. There is also one part of the assembly, when they indicate you need a partner; you need a partner. Other than that one step, I was assemble the rest by myself. This is my first particle board product I've bought from Ikea, so it will be interesting to see how well it holds up over the long haul.4
